I was scoping out some insurance rates and it seems like you can't just get insured for the summer months when you actually ride. You have to pay it all year round and if you cancel they wont insure you the next year. Does anyone know of any way to just get insured for the summer months (May - August)?

What kind of bikes are available to people over 6 foot tall?

I am 6 foot 1 inch, and I quickly realized that motorcycles aren't usually made for taller people. I tried on a Ninja 250, and could fit if i adjusted my legs into a very cramped position, which was far from being practical. Having said that however, I am a highschool senior, and have next to no experience with motorcycles. So bikes with huge engines(and a bigger frame) are kind of a grey area for me. Is there any middle ground between a small bike for small riders, and an insane huge motor for anyone? Thanks for your time!

i need help before i go insane. question for anyone that knows about motorcycles.?

this has been driving me nuts for over a year now. i have a honda rebel 250 that ive had for a while. im gonna take a riders course soon to learn how to drive better because i kind of suck at it right now. in a couple years i thought about getting a new bike. but the problem is im stuck on these 2 beautiful machines. ones a honda cbr 600 (the sport bike) and the other is a harley davidson 1200 low. im 18 and i have to pick one of these babies to keep for a while. the problem is my dad and most the people we know are big harley riders or cruisers and im the only one in love with sport bikes. i LOVE this honda. i recently seen the harley and love it but not as much as the honda. in your opinion which bike do you think would be best for me? im in love with speed but im not stupid and can control myself. but i keep thinking, what if i wanted to go on long trips? would it still be worth having a sport bike or a comfy harley? the trips arent that long its probably about 50 miles. would that be bad on my back if i were to get a sport bike there priced the same. would sportbike insurance be more? would it be wierd to run with a bunch of harley dudes on a sport bike? do you think a sportbike would be right for me when i get better at riding? i mean cuz the position and feeling is completely different right? please please help i dont know what to do and im tearing myself inhalf. go with my dad that wants me to have a nice harley and he hates sportbikes? or follow the georgeous bike ive been wanting since i was 12 and madly in love with??

WTF, cat poop inside my motorcycle cover?

I took the cover off my bike tonight and something came falling out of the hem. It wasn't very light out so I couldn't get a good look at it but it appeared to be a piece of wood or perhaps a nut. I thought perhaps a squirrel used the cover for storage of food. But then when another piece fell out when I went to put the cover back on I decided to take a closer look. I think it was dried cat poop! My new neighbor does have a couple of cats and one of them had been hiding under the motorcycle sometimes. So apparently she used my cover as a litter box.

Have you ever had that happen? Maybe a rodent infestation? Black widows maybe?

motorcycle wont start?

i have put in a new battery and put all brand new fuses in. lights turn on full and bright but when i flick on starter switch, bike goes dead untill i turn off starter switch, it goes back to full bright lights and everything. the only noise it makes when tries to start is one little click. it is an 81 honda cm400

What does a motorcycle service manual contain?

Does it just have general "this is how you work your lights" information, or does it go through how to change the clutch cable, clean the carburetor, etc.?
So I'd want either the service manual or the factory service manual, right?

If I get the factory service manual, will it be too technical for me to understand?

motorcycle fan problems?

the fan on my 97 cbr 900rr just stopped working so i took it off and tested it and it works. the gage on the top of bike works and says its getting real hot. so i took a piece of wire and ran it from a ground to the thermostat on the radiator with the wires hooked up and the fan kicked on but not that strong. so do i need a new thermostat (little round thing that screws into radiator). i test lighted everything and evrything is getting power to it. thanks for help.
i also checked the fuse its fine and getting power
they only thing that confuses me is that if temp sesor was bad why is the gage by the handle bars still working
