Sedona is beautiful and can be quite romantic. Enchantment Resort is very tranquil and serene - out a little ways from the hustle and bustle of all the tourists. It's ab out a 2 hour drive from Phoenix.

San Diego is beautiful - Hotel Del Coronado is great. Walk on the beach and fall in love again. It's a 6 hour driv e from Phoenix.

Go to San Diego and stay at the Best Wester Blue Sea Lodge at the foot of Pacific Beach Drive. It's right on the beach. Lots of places to walk to party, eat and just have fun. It's romantic and as quiet as you would like it to be.

I'd take mini vacations there even though I lived in San Diego. Get rooms 107 or 105 they have wooden porch/balconies so you can watch the surf. It's very relaxing.

SD is about six hours from Phoenix and a straight shot on I-8 out of Gila Bend.
